Ring in the holiday season with a screening of “Clara and the Nutcracker”, written, directed and animated by Debra Smith. Based on the story by E.T.A Hoffman and the ballet by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, a 16-year-old orphan girl named Clara is celebrating Christmas with her younger brother, Fritz and her Aunt Drosselmeyer when a nutcracker mysteriously appears at her doorstep. After taking him in as her own, she quickly finds that she has opened the door on herself for magical shenanigans to ensue. The screening will be followed by a Q & A with the creative team behind the work.
