Sebastian A. Jones is the President of Stranger Comics and author and creator of the fantasy world of Asunda including its lead character Niobe. He co-authored sophomore title Niobe She is Life with Amandla Stenberg, which became the first nationally distributed comic with a Black female author, artist, and lead hero in history. Viola Davis wrote the foreword. Currently Jones is co-authoring a new Niobe title with Thuso Mbedu. Before Stranger, Jones was an actor in scores of national commercials, movie White Space, and model for GQ at the same time he was President of MVP Records, releasing 25 albums that featured such artists as James Brown, Marvin Gaye, and Billie Holiday. Jones has also written, produced, and directed commercials, and the TV pilot Cast Off. At Stranger, Jones partnered with Garcelle Beauvais on the I Am Book Series, children’s books that focuses on inclusion with a foreword by Halle Berry, and co-wrote the acclaimed psychological thriller video game, Hektor. Jones has also taught lectures around the world, including BTH in Sweden to FAMU in Florida. After working with Prentice Penny at HBO, Jones and Penny recently partnered to co-found Payback Entertainment, to produce comics, TV and film, which will be published through Stranger. These include Naija Vamp he is co-authoring with Yetide Badaki and Jaycen Wise with Penny and Uraeus. Titles Jones has written and published include: The Untamed: A Sinner’s Prayer series, Niobe: She is Life, Niobe: She is Death, Niobe & Dura, Dusu, Erathune, Essessa, Tales of Asunda series, Morka Moa, Salvador, Pinata, I Am Mixed, I Am Living in 2 Homes, I Am Awesome, and Ruining Christmas. Jones also co-publishes the Brown Sugar Fairies franchise at Stranger Comics.
